And here we go again: Paramount is delaying three of its major releases due to COVID including two big Tom Cruise movies.
“Top Gun: Maverick” has been delayed from November 19th to May 27th of next year.
“Mission: Impossible 7″ was supposed to come out on May 27th of next year but has been pushed back to September 30th, 2022.
And “Jackass Forever” was originally scheduled to come out in October but instead will hit theaters on February 4th, 2022.

I do think this might be a little premature of Paramount. I get that they are being cautious but with “Shang-Chi & the Legend of the Ten Rings” coming out this weekend I feel they could have waited to see how the box office plays out.
I know a lot has been made of the numbers recently but we have seen success with recent films. “Candyman” over exceeding expectations as well as “Free Guy” and “Jungle Cruise” keeps chugging along that Disney just announced plans for a sequel.
So audiences are coming out but like always I think it depends on the movie and if people care. The films that all underachieved either made money with at home sales like “Black Widow” or in HBO Max case gave people the option to skip “The Suicide Squad” in theaters and watch multiple times at home.
