Kevin Smith’s “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot” picked up by Saban Films

A while back Kevin Smith revealed that he was working on bringing Jay and Silent Bob back to the big screen, and the Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy and Dogma director is one step closer to that dream coming true, as the titled “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot” has been picked up by Saban Films.

You might be saying “But I thought we already had a Jay and Silent Bob Movie?” and you’d be correct, back in 2001, the characters had the spotlight after spending years in the Kevin Smith film universe as supporting characters they took control of the lead in “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” which saw the duo heading to Hollywood to stop the production of a movie based on the characters they created. This new film is said to be a direct sequel of sorts to the original film while joking on reboots, remakes and sequels while simultaneously being all three at the same time.

On a side note: I listen to a couple of Kevin Smith’s podcast shows (Fat Man Beyond & Hollywood Babble-On) and he’s been discussing this movie for a while. It sounds like it is going to be a classic Kevin Smith comedy filled with his style of humor and cameos galore. His excitement to get this film going again and wanting to revisit two characters that helped launch his career is also exciting as a fan of his who even sat through his more recent films (Yoga Hosiers & Tusk) which haven’t been critical or audience darlings. So I guess all I’m trying to say is….Snoogans!
