“Gremlins” Director Joe Dante Is Not A Fan of Baby Yoda

“Gremlins” director Joe Dante, woke up and decided violence was the answer and his target is Grogu.

Dante was recently having a conversation with The San Francisco Chronicle, in which he promoted an upcoming double-screening of the original Gremlins and Gremlins 2: The New Batch. And that is when he poured gasoline onto a fire & took aim at Baby Yoda.

He talked about how the longevity of the franchise was due to Gizmo & that Star Wars outright stole and copied their design for Baby Yoda.

It’s not clear if this is a tongue-in-cheek comment to help promote the upcoming kids show, Gremlins: Secrets Of The Mogwai coming to HBO Max or he seriously has beef with Grogu.

‘Gremlins’ Director Joe Dante Says Baby Yoda Was “Stolen” From Gizmo – The Hollywood Reporter

In all honestly if Dante is being serious I think he should calm down. Yes, we all acknowledge anytime a cute baby style puppet shows up it is like Gizmo. The Furbies are a more direct rip off than Star Wars making a baby version of one of their most iconic characters.
