Ben Affleck Returning as Batman for Aquaman 2

Turns out when Ben Affleck told us he was done playing Batman he wasn’t being truthful.

Jason Momoa just revealed that he’s in the upcoming Aquaman sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

Now to be fair, this wasn’t on purpose. They got caught by a bus full of tourists on the Warner Brothers lot.

So Jason uploaded a couple pictures of himself with Ben, along with video of the moment they were found out. (You can see the moment here: Jason Momoa (@prideofgypsies) • Instagram photos and videos)

Ben already suited up for what we assumed was the last time in the upcoming The Flash, that is supposed to come out in June of 2023. Meanwhile Aquaman hits theaters in March, three months earlier.

There are a few different reasons Ben is returning, one is finishing out the stories of the Snyder build portion of the DCEU. Another could be as simple as a contract deal for appearances in other projects associated with that version of DC films. The one I’m hoping for is that while it appears DC is moving away from the Snyder verse of things they aren’t totally resetting it and will keep Batfleck around for more projects.
