Anthony Mackie to Star in “Twisted Metal” Series

Anthony Mackie has signed on to star in the Twisted Metal live-action series currently in the works.

Sony Television and PlayStation Productions are developing the series, based on the Twisted Metal games, the first of which released in 1995.

The new series, was first announced back in February, and is described as an action comedy, based on an original take by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writers behind the Deadpool and Zombieland films.

I have been a PlayStation kid since I made the switch from Genesis. Twisted Metal was a game I loved & constantly played with friends and my brothers. I remember sneakily getting the game because my parents didn’t know about the game rating system. So it took a long time before my mom realized what I was really playing.

With that said, I’m really excited for this series. I enjoy Anthony Mackie’s work and since I loved the games growing up I’m sure I’ll be tuning in weekly.
