A “Friday the 13th” Prequel Series is in the Works at Peacock

Now that all the “Friday the 13th” lawsuits are settled we have our first news regarding something new from the franchise!

Peacock is developing a prequel series called “Crystal Lake” which will focus on Pamela Voorhees before the events of the first film.

There aren’t any details about plot, but indications appear that it could be like “Bates Motel”, the prequel series about Norman Bates and his mother from “Psycho.”

Friday the 13th Prequel Series Crystal Lake in the Works at Peacock – The Hollywood Reporter

I am really excited that for the first time in a long time we are getting something new from the “Friday the 13th” franchise. A lot of fans made films have been holding over diehards of the franchise but it’s nice to know we are getting something new from some of the creators. Hopefully though at some point we can move forward with more adult Jason stuff and even have him appear in this series closer to the end of its run.
