SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (JMU Athletics) – Senior Václav Tichý and junior Michael Hake picked up top-10 finishes to lead James Madison men’s golf to a tie for third at the Babygrande Donald Ross Collegiate on Wednesday afternoon.

Tichý and Hake each tied for sixth in a deep 100-player field with three-round scores of 212 (-4) at the par-72, 6,723-yard Mid Pines Golf Course.

The tie for sixth marked Tichý’s second straight top-10 finish and fourth of the season, while Hake posted his best finish in a JMU uniform. Tichý opened play with a four-under 68 on Monday before carding two rounds of 72 (E) to close his 54 holes, while Hake posted scores of 70-73-69.

As a team, JMU tied for third in a 20-team field with George Washington with a three-round aggregate of 862 (-2), one of four teams to finish under par for the tournament. Richmond took home the team title, finishing at 858 (-6) overall. For the Dukes, it is their fifth top-five finish as a team in the 2025-26 season.

Placing third for JMU was senior Owen Kose, who rose 16 spots on the leaderboard Wednesday with an even-par 72 in his final round. The native of Holly Springs, N.C., recorded tallies of 73 (+1) and 74 (+2) in his opening two rounds.
