According to multiple reports, James Madison head football coach Bob Chesney is expected to leave JMU to become the head coach of the UCLA Bruins.

Chesney will reportedly sign with UCLA after the Sun Belt championship game on Friday, and UCLA will allow him to coach the Dukes in the College Football Playoff should they qualify.

Chesney is 20-5 in his two years in Harrisonburg and has led the Dukes to an 11-1 record this season and they finished 8-0 in the Sun Belt. James Madison is currently ranked 19th in the AP and Coaches Top 25 polls and they’ll host the SBC title game against Troy on Friday.

The deal is reported to be a five-year contract with UCLA.
