ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The Rockingham County Board of Supervisors adopted its comprehensive plan and one area that the plan concentrates on is just west of the Harrisonburg City limits.

Assistant County Administrator Casey Armstrong explained how the area will be used on Early Mornings with Jim Britt.

“Generally speaking, we’re talking about everything South of Route 33 between Cross Keys Rd., Route 33 and north of Port Republic Road and then west to the city line,” Armstrong said. “That’s generally the Urban Development area.”

The Comprehensive Plan, which was adopted unanimously at last month’s supervisors’ meeting, sets goals for the county over the next 20 years, factoring in land use, housing and transportation.
