Memorial Day Closures

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY (Rocktown Now) — On this Memorial Day Monday, many local government workers in the Valley will have the day off.

Harrisonburg city offices are closed today, and all normally scheduled trash pickup has been suspended until tomorrow.

Bus service in the city is also on hold until tomorrow morning.

Similar closures are also in effect in Rockingham County, where county offices, container sites, and the landfill are all shuttered for the day.

In Staunton, Memorial Day closures will affect city offices, sanitation, and the public library, all of which are closed today.

However, community pools in both Harrisonburg and Staunton will be open for folks looking to beat the heat.
