Lohr declared winner in District 1 race

HARRISONBURG VA: (Rocktown Now) – Jackie Lohr has been declared the winner of the District 1 seat on the Rockingham County School Board.

According to updated County election data and the Virginia Department of Elections, Lohr has defeated her challenger Ernest Calhoun by just 18 votes.

The final tally shows that Lohr garnered 3,152 votes while Calhoun brought in 3,134.

Lohr stated on social media that she is thankful for those who showed up to vote, volunteer, donate, walk in parades, or share posts online, and that every effort made a difference.

Meanwhile, Calhoun posted thanks to “all the wonderful families” who supported his campaign as well and has stated that he will request a recount.

The Rockingham County Electoral Board will certify the results this Friday.
