BALTIMORE, Md. (JMU Athletics) – A six-goal fourth quarter propelled No.9 Johns Hopkins past James Madison Lacrosse as the Dukes fell 12-10 at Homewood Field on Tuesday afternoon.
After JMU (2-3) entered the final frame with a 10-6 lead, six unanswered scores for the Blue Jays allowed Johns Hopkins to hand the Dukes their third loss of the season.
Jordan Peterson led the JMU attack with three goals, registering her second hat trick of the season. Lauren Savage and Chloe Bleckley each added two goals. Olivia Rongo anchored the Dukes’ defense, causing four turnovers and gathering five ground balls.
Abigail Beattie received the start in goal, playing all 60 minutes and making six saves.
The Blue Jays (6-1) were paced by McKenzey Craig, netting four goals, an assist, and tallying a groundball. Ashley Langdon got the nod in the cage, making nine saves and boasting a .474 save percentage.

• After Carney opened the game with her seventh goal of the season, the Blue Jays responded with a score of their own to tie the game at one at the 8:28 mark.
• As JHU added two more to stretch their lead to a pair of goals, C. Bleckley and Peterson scored two unanswered to knot the game after one.
James Madison 5, Johns Hopkins 4
• The Dukes carried their momentum into the beginning of the quarter, taking the lead on a Payton Root goal at the 11:15 mark.
• Peterson netted her second goal of the match with just under three minutes to go in the half, handing the Dukes a 5-4 lead at halftime.
James Madison 10, Johns Hopkins 6
• Olivia Matthews doubled the JMU lead to 6-4 with a free position goal at 13:15 in the quarter.
• Following back-to-back goals from JHU to tie the game at six, JMU closed the frame with four unanswered in the final six minutes of the third to take a four-point lead heading to the fourth.

• The Blue Jays pulled off the comeback, scoring six goals of their own and holding the Dukes without a score to secure their sixth win of the year.
