VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (EMU Athletics) – The EMU Men’s Soccer team made a trek to the other side of the state on Wednesday, making a business trip to the beach for a showdown with Virginia Wesleyan. Unfortunately, the Royals wound up on the wrong side of a 3-1 score against the Marlins.

Highlights
• 36′ | EMU and Virginia Wesleyan went back and forth for most of the first half until the Marlins broke the stalemate with a goal by Mason Wakefield. That made the score 1-0 at the half.
• The Marlins broke away as the second half progressed with goals by JaMarhe Wills and Nolan Schulte to extend their lead to 3-0.
• 88′ | A foul in the box resulted in a penalty kick for EMU, which Iverson Garcia booted into the net to put the Royals on the board to avoid the shutout.
