HARRISONBURG, Va. (JMU Athletics) – Fresh off a 48-point home win, James Madison rose three spots in both major college football polls, coming in at #21 in the AP Top 25 and #22 in the US LBM Coaches Poll.

JMU won its eighth straight in record fashion, as it rolled to a 58-10 victory against App State on Saturday, Nov. 15.

The 48-point win was JMU’s largest margin of victory against both a Sun Belt Conference team and in the 20-game history of the App State series. JMU out-gained App by a 627-146 margin, which included a dominant 324-1 ledger in the run game.

The Dukes also clinched the Sun Belt East Division title and a spot in the SBC championship game, as it currently sits at 9-1 overall and 7-0 in conference play.

JMU is the top-ranked Group of Six opponent this week, as it was also joined in both polls by North Texas (#22/#23) and Tulane (#24/#25).

Since joining the Football Bowl Subdivision in 2022, JMU has now been nationally ranked in the AP Top 25 in 10 polls, as the #21 ranking is tied for the second-highest ranking JMU has ever achieved. It was also #21 on Nov. 5, 2023, while holding a #18 ranking on Nov. 12, 2023.

JMU steps out of Sun Belt play to wrap up non-conference action on Saturday, Nov. 22 when it hosts Washington State for Senior Day. Kickoff from Bridgeforth Stadium is set for 1 p.m.
