HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) –The Harrisonburg City Council furthered their support for the restoration of the Historic Harrison House in downtown Harrisonburg.

Director of Public Works Thomas Hartman provided an update on the application process required to secure the VA 250 grant for the project.

The grant requires a funding match equal to one third of the grant request. The Friendly City is requesting $3 million in VA 250 funds, which will be matched with the $1 million of existing project funds approved by the City Council.

If the grant is approved, the restoration is slated to be completed in the Summer of 2026.
