AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The Augusta County man who was arrested Monday after a hit-and-run incident over the weekend, will spend the foreseeable future behind bars.

According to online records, John Randozzo Junior had his bond hearing Tuesday afternoon continued until October 18 in General District Court. He will remain in custody in the meantime.

Randozzo, 56, faces two charges, including felony hit and run, in connection with Saturday afternoon’s incident in the Craigsville area.

Authorities accuse Randozzo of being the driver of a Ford Expedition that was backing up a small utility trailer inside a yard on North Chestnut Avenue when it struck a child and fled the scene. He eventually turned himself in to the authorities.

Meanwhile, the girl was flown to UVA Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
