HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Harrisonburg Police say that there is no threat to the community after a body was found at an apartment complex in Harrisonburg last night, sparking a large police presence.
City Communications Director Mike Parks told Rocktown Now this morning that officers responded to The Harrison apartments on Devon Lane to conduct a requested welfare check.
He said that backup was called to the scene after police discovered the remains of one person inside.
Parks added that the death does not currently appear to be suspicious, and the name of the deceased is not being released at this time.
