Wilson Memorial PE teacher charged with sexually assaulting student

FISHERSVILLE, Va. –  An arrest has been made as the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office has completed their investigation into the allegations involving students being inappropriately touched by a teacher at Wilson Memorial High School.

As a result of this investigation, the Sheriff’s Office says 47-year old Michael Freeman has been charged with a single count of sexual battery.

Freeman had been a Physical Education teacher and was named the Girl’s Cross Country Coach less than two years ago.

Freeman has been released on bond and is currently awaiting his first court appearance.
