BLACKSBURG, Va – A new study by Virginia Tech shows that the commonwealth is still adding plenty of jobs post-pandemic, although not as quickly as the rest of the country.

The report shows that Virginia created more than 17-thousand non-farming jobs between April and August of this year, capped off by a 67-hundred-job spike two months ago. That final push paved the way for the largest workforce in state history.

However, that growth is virtually even with the national rate of about two-and-a-half percent.

Last month, the U-S had two-point-seven-percent more available jobs compared to the last pre-pandemic month in February 2020. Virginia’s job recovery was a full point behind.
