McGaheysville, VA. Firefighters in Eastern Rockingham County were called out for two structure fires between Saturday afternoon and early Sunday morning. A fire Saturday afternoon caused heavy damage to a home at 600 Big Buck Lane. Fire had spread through the attic of the structure by the time fireman arrived. There were no injuries.

Early Sunday morning, fire destroyed a home located in the Massanutten resort community. According to McGaheysville Fire Chief Todd Breeden, fire was showing from the roof and side of a three story home when they arrived. There were no injuries and all the occupants made it out safely.

McGaheysville fireman were assisted by departments from Elkton, Shenandoah, the City of Harrisonburg, Rockingham County Fire Department, Hose Company number 4, Stanley and the Virginia Department of Forestry.
