SVEC Crews Continue to Make Progress With Restoration Efforts

ROCKINGHAM – Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative crews, with the aid of contractors and several other Virginia electric cooperatives, continue to make progress restoring service to those affected by Wednesday’s high winds.

As of 4:50 p.m. Thursday, about 1,100 members are out of service in nearly 50 locations. SVEC will continue to be responsive to emergencies and severe situations, but those members who remain out of power at sunset Thursday should anticipate service restoration to occur on Friday.

SVEC is monitoring crews’ work under air quality guidance provided by the EPA’s Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards. As crews have made progress on Thursday, they have worked through issues with smoke and road access from fires.
