Staunton Man Arrested on Drug and Child Pornography Charges

STAUNTON, Va – A Staunton man is in custody on drug and child pornography charges.

Staunton Police Sergeant Butch Shifflett reported that 45-year-old Mark Bennett was arrested on August 21st and charged with eight counts, including distribution of drugs to a minor and two counts of possession of child pornography.

Shifflett added that further investigation led to three more charges levied against Bennett last weekend.

One of those charges was taking indecent liberties with a child.

Bennett is currently being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.
