State Police investigate fatal I-81 crash

RAPHINE, Va. –  Virginia State Police looking into the moments just ahead of a fatal multi-vehicle crash in Rockbridge County.

It happened about six yesterday morning along I-81 and involved eight-vehicles.  State Police have not released a name, but report that one person was killed in the wreck.

Debris, lumber and water bottles were scattered across the interstate from four tractor-trailers, shutting down the southbound lanes of the highway for 10-hours and caused back-ups that reached 14-miles.
