MOUNT JACKSON, Va – A Timberville man is in custody following a 19-hour standoff with Shenandoah County authorities and Virginia State Police.

Sheriff Tim Carter reported in news release that at around 6:30 Tuesday evening, deputies responded to Perry Trailer Park Road in Mount Jackson for a report of a wanted person.

The caller stated that the subject, identified as Joshua Litten, was armed and inside the home.

After several attempts were made to negotiate a peaceful resolution, Litten allegedly produced a firearm and shots were fired from inside the residence. Finally, at around 1:30 Wednesday afternoon, Litten exited the trailer and was taken into custody.
