HARRISONBURG, VA (WSVA) – Sentara R-M-H is calling attention to a carbon monoxide treatment on site that uses no injections and no opioids with a 100 percent success rate.

The device is called a hyperbaric chamber, and Tamlyn Ogden, Program Director at the hospital’s Wound Care Center, says it works by compressing oxygen to force more into the blood – and forcing out carbon monoxide molecules.

She knows because she’s had to use it herself.

Ogden says that her stay in the chamber, which was broken into two parts, restored her health within one day.

A wound care doctor told WSVA that the chamber never fails against carbon monoxide poisoning, but it comes with a hefty price tag for the uninsured.
