One dead in Rockingham County crash

Elkton, Va. –  One person is dead and three others hospitalized after a crash in Rockingham County.

State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash outside Elkton.

The investigation shows a 2007 Chevy Cobalt ran off Fox Mountain Road just before midnight last night.  The car hit a utility pole killing 18-year old Madolyn Morris of Shenandoah.  Morris was a passenger in the car.

The driver, 20-year old Elkton resident Dakota Shifflett and two other passengers were taken to UVA Medical Center with serious injuries.

Charges are pending.

The crash remains under investigation.
