Lt. Lonnie Sherfey to retire from Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office

(Woodstock) – The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office announces the retirement of Lt Lonnie Sherfey.

He started out as an Auxiliary volunteer then became a full time staff member in 2001. His last promotion was to the rank of Lieutenant in 2014.

Sherfey has been instrumental in the areas of Patrol, Honor Guard, Search and Rescue, SWAT, Civil Process, Court Security, and Animal Control. Lonnie has been an inspiration and a role model to fellow co-workers. The Sheriff’s Office wishes him well.
