HARRISONBURG, Va – The Harrisonburg Police Department dealt with a crisis situation on Tuesday.

City Communications Director Mike Parks reports that officers were called to a home on Crescent Drive shortly before noon.

When officers arrived, they tried but were unable to make contact with the unidentified individual in crisis.

Parks added during a press conference that the individual was not a threat to the community, but police did put a shelter in place order for a short time in that area so they could work without someone possible interrupting them by accident.

The Shelter in Place was rescinded just before 1pm and Parks said that authorities will try again to make contact with the individual at a later time.
