Afton, Va. – A Waynesboro man is guilty of killing another man at an area motel.

A jury found 48-year old Darin Davis guilty on a single count of voluntary manslaughter.

It was this past June that Davis arrived at the Colony House Motel on Afton Mountain.  Commonwealth’s Attorney Tim Martin says that following a confrontation in the motel’s parking lot, Davis shot and killed 34-year old Stuarts Draft resident Gary Mawyer.

Davis will be sentenced by a judge May 23rd.  At that hearing, he could get up to 10-years in prison.
