A former Page County deputy was arrested last week in Rockingham County on charges related to possessing child pornography.

W-H-S-V first reported that 40-year-old Shadarryl Veney turned himself into the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office on Friday following a month-long investigation.

According to reports, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children issued a tip after Veney allegedly uploaded an explicit photo of an underage girl to the cloud in early August. He was charged with four counts of possession of child porn and released on bond.

On social media, Page County Sheriff Chad Cubbage sought to distance himself from the former deputy, saying that he “immediately terminated” Veney the same day a search warrant was executed at his home.

Cubbage said he now hopes that justice is served.
