STANARDSVILLE, Va. –  State Police say they are continuing to investigate a fatal crash in Greene County.

It was about 12:30 in the morning this past Sunday that troopers were called out to a single-vehicle crash on Dyke Road almost a quarter-mile south of Haneytown Road.

State Police say that a 1997 Toyota 4Runner was traveling south on Dyke Road when it struck a deer, lost control, ran off the left side of the road, then struck a utility pole and an embankment.

The driver, 31-year old Dustin Breeden of Stanardsville, died at the scene. State Police say that he was not wearing a seatbelt.
