EMU Baseball falls at Christopher Newport Sunday

The Eastern Mennonite baseball team dropped a non-conference game at Christopher Newport on Sunday, 17-6.  The Royals fall to 8-16 this season.

EMU scored first in the opening inning, but CNU answered back with nine unanswered runs, capped off by a six-run third inning and they cruised to the victory.

Alex Gulisano and Drew Petitt led Eastern Mennonite with two hits each, while Jordan Jones drove in two runs and Cole Bashinski scored twice.  Karson Jennings took on the loss on the mound as he went 2.1 innings and allowed seven runs on seven hits.

EMU and Christopher Newport will meet again on Tuesday as they play in Harrisonburg at 4:00 p.m.
