As passenger travel rebounds following pandemic lock-downs, Duke Dog is ready to welcome travelers to the Shenandoah Valley.

The mascot is part of an immersive visual display in the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport terminal celebrated at a ribbon cutting event Tuesday.

SHD Executive Director Greg Campbell says JMU faculty/staff, students, alumni, and university visitors are frequent users of the airport and it will be nice for them to feel at home with the images of campus – and Duke Dog when they arrive and depart from Weyers Cave.

SHD saw its best month ever for passenger traffic in July and advance bookings are showing this trend will likely continue.
