Drug Arrest Made in Rockingham County

BROADWAY, Va – Rockingham County authorities made an arrest Thursday night following a call for a suspicious person.

Broadway and Timberville Police responded to that suspicious call of an individual who was sitting for hours at the side of a business.

When officers arrived, they made contact with the individual and quickly determined that he was under the influence of an unknown substance.

During the investigation and with the help of a K-9, officers searched the vehicle and found nearly three ounces of methamphetamine, almost two grams of cocaine, a half gram of heroin and nearly 25-hundred dollars in cash.

The suspect, whose name was not released, was charged with possession with intent to distribute a schedule I or II narcotic.
