UPDATE***** Lockdown has been lifted.

HARRISONBURG, Va – Authorities are investigating an incident that happened Monday morning at Harrisonburg High School.

It began shortly before noon. Multiple Harrisonburg Police cars arrived on campus. Witnesses at the scene say officers were chasing an individual through the bleachers of the baseball field.

Preliminary reports indicate that the individual had a weapon on the premises.

Officers did capture the suspect.

Because of all this, the high school was placed on lockdown mode for nearly two hours.

The lockdown was lifted shortly before 2 pm. This is a developing situation and when there is more information, we will pass it along.

 

HARRISONBURG, Va. — Harrisonburg High School was in lockdown mode after a person, who was reportedly armed with a knife, was on campus.

A heavy police presence responded to the school, and officers remain on campus.

Witnesses say officers with guns drawn were chasing an individual into the bleachers of the baseball field.

The suspect has been apprehended, but the school remains in lockdown mode.
